All i can do now is to only post my view and Poh Boon Sir Message to you all on this blog.
I wont be able to attend any more of your NFDC 2008 training. As i have some other events going on while you guys and gals are having training. All i want to say had already been said and repeated hundred of times. So i am going to say it again.
Lets start from the uniform(From Top to Bottom)....
Beret:
- Navy Blue In Colour. If yours change in colour please change it. If you are colour blind please ask your squad mate to help you check.
- No fluffy objects on the beret. If there is any please trim it away.
- Cap Badge must be placed on the left side, above the left eye.
- Cap badge should be about 1cm above the hemline of the beret.
- If you think your beret is too small or to large please change it to the correct size that you can fit in it.
- No pigtail should be seen when you are wearing your beret.
- Beret worn should just be 2cm above the eyebrow.
- Beret must be worn in such a way that the black hemline must be
parallel to the ground.
- Maybe be secured with only black accessories (Applies to Females only)
- No fringe should be see when you are wearing the beret. If you have a problem in this condition, i suggest you go for a haircut.
Ear Accessories:
- Only ear studs(not longer than o.2cm) are allow. (Applies to Female only)
- No ear hole, ear studs or earrings is allow for boys.
- Spectacle hooks should be worn if you are wearing a spectacle.
Uniform:
- Should be well ironed.
- Should be white.
- Collars should be standing up. (Applies to Male only)
- Shirt for the males must be tucked in such a way that there is just enough fabric outside the pants for the wearer to raise his arms. (Apply to Male only)
- The ironing on the pants must be clearly visible, with 2 ironing lines clearly seen both in front and back of the pants. (Applies to Male only)
- The buckle must be totally black. (Applies to Male only)
- The end strap of the belt must be on the left hand side and folded to prevent it from flying around. (Applies to Male only)
- Flat collar. (Applies to Female only)
- There should be 2 folds at the back. (Applies to Female only)
- Belt must just be at the sewings. (Applies to Female only)
- End of belt on the left hand side, slightly behind the side. (Applies to Female only)
Name Tag:
- Must be worn just above the right pocket. (Applies to Male only)
- Must be worn between the first and second buttons on the left side. (Applies to Female only)
Badges:
- Badges must be worn with a maximum of 4 badges per row.
- The badges are to be arranged in chronological order.
- Badges must not be overlapped
- Badges must be worn above the left pocket. (Applies to Male only)
- Badges must be worn on the left with the bottom row in line withname tag. (Applies to Female only)
Buttons:
- Must be black in colour.
- Do apply a coat of nail polish on the button to make it shiny and protection against corrosion, if necessary.
- The buttons must be secured in such a way that the pointed end of the shield is pointing down.
- Do not have the buttons polished till the Red Cross emblem cannot be seen.
- Buttons should be secured by button rings.
Socks:
- Black in color. (Applies to Male only)
- No brand must be spotted. (Applies to Male only)
- No ankle socks. (Applies to Male only)
- White in colour. (Applies to Female only)
- Folding should be about 2cm by2cm. (Applies to Female only)
Boots:
- Must be Black throughout.
- Must be Polish.
Okay.... Next is about Training.... every training from now onwards is extremely important as we really do not have much time left to practice. Remember to treat every training as a competition. Put in your best effort in every round of practice. Do not again give anyone the reason of why your drills are very bad as you did not put in effort. This reason is not acceptable competition is like only a couple of days away and you are still giving your seniors, VIs, YOs stating that you did not put in effort for the practice. Things like when standing at ease, you should pull back your shoulder, fingers should be straight.... all this basic stuff you all should know and not be doing any of this drills wrongly by now..... Till now i still can figure it out why you all could laugh at your own mistake. Is making the mistake very funny? By laughing at it will it help to improve in your drills? You all can laugh but if you all make the mistake again on the competition day itself, you wont be the one who is laughing, other schools will be laughing at you and you marks will be decreasing as well..... so why not instead of laughing, help one another by not doing the mistake again. If you are laughing / smiling in the squad it means you did not look at the second level when you are doing the drills, if you are looking at second level, you wont be able to see you squad mates and hence you wont laugh / smile. Actions like not looking up at second level, not locking your arms while turning / marching, not looking at second level, smiling, laughing, sticking out your tongue when you did / did not do something wrong, opening your mouth, and many many more stuff can be seen clearly. Remember you are doing this for you, yourself and your squad mate. When you achieve champions, credits will always be yours. Your Seniors, VIs, YOs have nothing to do with it. This competition belongs to all of you, not your seniors / VIs / or YOs. Do put in your best effort in every practice even thought it is not the competition.
Must Score Full Marks For Uniform Inspection!! Belinda Ma'am have taught you how to polish your boots on 12 February and i had already post all the guild lines for your uniform. So do not give anymore reason like, because it is a new boots therefore it cannot shine, seniors never teach how to put the badges, seniors never teach how to iron uniform, parents iron uniform therefore have multiple lines..... no such things!
On the competition day!, put in your best effort. Even thought you did not get north district champion (Touch wood!!), life still have to go on, but one thing for sure you wont regret as you all have put in your best effort and you wont say to yourself "Oo shit... i just now lost balance hope the judge did not notice" or " Oo no... just now i horse kick.... die...." So put in your very best effort till no regret will be made. When you achieve north district champion, life still have to go on, all your effort, hard work had paid off. But still do not be too proud as in RCY there are still many other competition like First Aid Competition, Current Affairs Competition(CAC) and many other more which we are weak in. RCY is not only about foot drill. We have to be all rounder, we must also do well in other areas.
